On June 5th, 2023: Prachiti International School celebrated World Environment Day. The event was attended by the School Principal, Coordinators, staff members, and students. Mrs. Vaishali Lade, the School Principal, welcomed the audience with an opening speech emphasizing the significance of the day. She raised awareness about the urgent need to take action to protect the environment and Mother Earth. Mrs. Smita Nerkar provided clear examples to enhance understanding of the concept. She also announced a mandatory project for all students, requiring them to undertake an environmentally friendly action outside of school hours and prepare a presentation. The projects were to be submitted to the respective class teachers, who would evaluate each student on a scale of one to ten. The announcement of this innovative project sparked excitement among the students.
Mr. Tushar Suryawanshi, a teacher at the school, then addressed the audience with an enlightening speech, emphasizing how small efforts can make a big difference. He urged everyone to spread awareness about environmental conservation. He concluded his speech by stating, “Each one can contribute by avoiding the use of plastic bags, reducing food waste, using public transportation to conserve fuel, and engaging in recycling. Each individual plays a crucial role in creating a greener tomorrow.” The program was hosted by Mrs. Nitu.
The next segment focused on the welcoming of students on their first day of school. Students from the Junior and Senior sections performed a play dressed in disciplined uniforms. Through their simple and innocent act, they portrayed how human activities are harming the environment and the potential consequences of such damage.
Following the play, the students of each class were welcomed with various surprising activities by their respective class teachers in line with the theme of the celebrations. The discussions during the activities provided valuable insights and made the overall experience enriching for the students. Additionally, each class participated in plantation activities on the school campus. Honorable Chairman Shri. Prashant Patil extended his wishes to the students for the entire celebration.
The celebrations concluded with a collective pledge from everyone to take the initiative in preserving the environment and contribute towards a cleaner and greener Mother Earth.
