Celebration of Navratri & Dussehra festival at Prachiti International school
Sakri : Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is a vibrant and significant Indian festival that marks the triumph of good over evil. It’s a time when the entire nation comes alive with festivities, symbolizing the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana. For students, especially Prachiti International School and its cultural programmes offers a unique opportunity to learn about our rich culture and heritage while having loads of fun. Inspirational idol Aai Ekvira Foundation’s Chairman Hon . Prashant Patil sir motivated to the management and teaching staff for organising such variations in academic sessions which allowed students confident and strengthful .
Dussehra isn’t just about watching the effigies of Ravana burn; it’s a time for children to understand the importance of virtues like truth, courage, and righteousness. It’s an occasion to spend quality time with family, friends, and classmates, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved. Navratri celebration brought enormous happiness in the campus of Prachiti International school Incharge of the Navratri Tr.Manisha Borse and Tr.Tushar Suryawanshi as well as from Primary section Tr.Harshada Gangurde enthusiastically taken participation and does organisation of sound system for garba and importance of the colour by selected teachers in assembly .On the day of festival Respected Principal Mrs.Vaishali Lade Vice Principal Mr.Ghanshyam Sonawane both Co ordinators Shri.Vaibhav Sonawane and Shri.Tushar Deore have worshipped the potrait of the Goddess Durga and wishes all students of the pre primary and secondary section . Importance of the Dussehra and one mythological based story told by Tr.Sapana Thakre ,in it she told about reason for celebration of Navratri and Dussehra celebration as well as wished all children .Nine girls decorated themselves beautifully as day wise Goddesses of Navratri Following it and excellent durga dance performance done by 5 th& 6 th std girls which were choreographed by Tr. Hemangi Borse .Along with it One play was also set by teachers which our remembrance of reason of all nine goddess why and how they killed mahishaasur . Excellent performance given by all the participants .
After the dance performance Ravan dahan was done by Lord Rama which was attired. a student of 6 th std namely Atharv Gavhale , Goddess Sita Vibhuti Salunke and Lakmana ‘s role performed by .Gaurav Ramole. .As per mythology story of Valmiki Ramayana Lord Rama killed Ravana with his brahmasra . Disguised Lord Rama i.e.Atharv Gavhale has done the Ravan dahan and then swagatam celebration of them done by children on the platform of programme.
One day prior teachers were intimated all the sections students to come in garba attire so as per glad mood maximum students were came in ghagra choli and boys in traditional dresses. Along with teaching and non teaching, students danced on garba songs .
In the background of the platform Goddess Durga drawn by Art Kiran Gawali, Bhupendra Salunke and decoration of the program done by Vaishnavi Deore and Tr.Dipmala Ahirrao. Amazing dance performance photos were captured by Tr.Namrata Gisavi, Anjali Lade and Tr.Praful Salunke . For the sound system Tr.Kunal Deore had taken much effort to give and created rhythmic atmosphere .
In conclusion, the celebration of Dussehra in schools is not merely a festivity, but an opportunity to instill values, impart cultural knowledge, and create lasting memories for the students. These interactive activities serve as educational tools that help children understand the significance of Dussehra beyond the spectacular display of Ravana’s effigy going up in flames.

The storytelling sessions deepen their connection with the epic by bringing the characters and events to Most importantly, Dussehra activities like charity drives teach the invaluable lesson of giving back and instill the ideals of kindness and generosity.In the background of the Ravana effigy going up in flames, it’s the metaphorical fires of knowledge, virtue, and goodness that these activities aim to ignite in the hearts of young learners.
