The interim budget for 2024, presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, focuses on four key sectors: the poor, women, youth, and farmers. The development of these sectors is essential for the overall development of the country. The budget addresses the needs, aspirations, and development of these sectors.
The budget reflects the commitment of the BJP government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to the welfare of the marginalized sections of society. Since coming to power, the Modi government has worked to provide every household in the country with access to water, electricity, gas, financial services, and bank accounts. The government has also addressed the food security concerns of the poor by providing free food grains to 800 million people. The Modi government has focused on meeting the basic needs of citizens, which has led to an increase in incomes in rural areas.
The budget proposes to build an additional two crore houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. One crore families will be provided solar panels and free electricity up to 300 units. The budget also proposes to set aside ₹1 lakh crore for interest-free loans to youth. This will boost research and the start-up ecosystem. The budget also proposes to make 3 crore women “lakhpati didis”. ₹11 lakh crore will be invested in roads, railways, and infrastructure.
This budget is a vision for India’s future. It is a blueprint for inclusive and sustainable development. The budget will help India achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047, Said BJP president Shankar japtap.
